Meeting a Heart of Gold
I had the pleasure of meeting Shayla 4 years ago when I got hired at Cady Studios in Downtown Jacksonville. She was always so warm and willing to help others learn and fit in with a family that was already formed. It was so cool that she lived not too far from me as well, especially since we worked in Northeast FL and were the only ones to live in Southeast Georgia. Since then we kept in touch over social media. One day she announced that she was expecting, I just felt so excited for her because she is literally one of the most deserving people I've had to pleasure of meeting.
When she announced that she was having a baby and wanted me to capture her little one I was honored. Shayla is the founding photographer of Shayla B. Photography in Folkston, GA. I just knew she was going to stun us with pictures of her little baby. We, as photographers, tend to share our news a little different than non-photogs. She did just that with her announcement, gender reveal and baby shower portraits. But their first family portraits she entrusted me with and I couldn't have been more honored. I also got her to model for me while pregnant and that was tons of fun.
When the world found out about she was having a boy the ideas started to flow and I was very happy with how everything turned out. We even got special images that mean the most to mom including a picture with her son and his late-grandpa. It couldn't have gone any better.
I am always honored when another photographer decides to trust me with their memories. I love it with all my heart and cant wait for the next time to capture this family.
