NYC Fine Art Maternity
I met Frances through a creative project I hosted where I was looking for everyday, beautiful pregnant women. This beauty also happened to be a makeup artist! How cool is life sometimes? Frances and I hit it off. What was supposed to be just a solo maternity session turned into a Mommy & Me Maternity session. Frances and her husband have two of the most handsome little men. They are finally expecting their little girl. Their hearts are so full of love and their hands are full of beautiful babies; Moses, Aaron and awaiting baby Naomi.
Full of Personality
Upon their arrival, I met mom and the family at their car to greet them. When I walked up little Aaron (her smallest prince) greeted me with the biggest smile. He was already excited to play. I love meeting kids like him. His little eyes were lit up with wonder. I could have played with him all day. His older brother, Moses, was a little more reserved, but he warmed up in no time. Once we got in the studio, he started exploring and telling me about Spiderman and T-Ball. Both of which he enjoys just as much as my son does. I love seeing the shock in parents' face when I hold full conversations with their little ones. It wasn't that long ago that I had a toddler as well. Understanding toddlers is an entire experience. They make up their own words sometimes and you have to be on point with understanding them, and making them feel heard. My biggest strategy with getting these little ones to warm up to me, especially post-pandemic. They had limited access to new people and now these new people, have half of a face because of the masks. It can be a scary thing to deal with for these little ones, but Aaron and Moses handled it like champs. Once I got them warmed up to me completely, I was able to capture their personalities in full. Scroll to see a little more of these vivacious souls!
Solos with Mommy
I know moms love to be in pictures with all of their babies, but one thing I noticed growing up as the second born of seven kids that I loved my own alone time with my parents. That included solo outings and pictures with just us. Those Aaron and Moses are still very young, when they get older they will be looking for images like this. Images that show their personal connection with mom. They will be able to show these to their kids. That is always my main goal. I think about the next generation.
Moses stood with his momma and laughed each time I asked him to kiss his mommy's belly. He had all the sillies that day. Aaron was clearly a track star in his former life. We knew the best way to fix that was for mom to give him loves and hold him close. He found his mother's necklace intriguing. Now, each little man has a photograph of their gorgeous momma and themselves.
I love incorporating family in the maternity portraits. It really is a joyful moment for everyone. I would be seriously remiss if I did not celebrate my maternity miracle makers. You ladies bring a gift to this world that is so unique and special. I could not allow the session to end without getting portraits of just my pregnant model. As I doted on Frances, we were able to bring out the inner diva and fierceness I know all women possess. She felt sexy, pretty, happy and flirty, and I was able to catch it all. Take a look for yourself!
