The Productionista
I was blessed with siblings galore. I am #2 of 7 children. Yes, I said 7! This lovely lady is the first of all of us. We all happen to be creative and have branched into our professions, but Alisha, by far, takes the cake with creativity.
Last year, Alisha started her business right before the wake of Covid-19, on March 1st. This was a huge idea in the making and she talked about it for so long. As her little sister, it was exciting to see her go forth and start the journey. This was the birth of the Productionista.
A Go-Getter
Though she started in 2020, Alisha had been "the Productionista" for as long as I've known her. She put together so many events and even helped with coordinating many of our church events. In 2015, I had the joy of having Alisha plan, coordinate and MC my baby shower. Having her in charge was a huge relief. Her personality doesn't allow for "half-stepping". She is a true perfectionist and we knew this would be an amazing endeavor for her. Since starting her business (even during a pandemic), she has booked a wedding each month with some destination weddings on her roster. I am beyond proud of this woman and not just because she is my sister. Seeing the grind from social media, legalization, continued education in her craft and so much more has brought genuine joy to my heart. I see her doing her thing and it makes me want to go that much harder.
Shooting in the City
Because we are New York City natives, while visiting recently, I had the pleasure of shooting her 1 year anniversary branding/headshot portraits. It's amazing when the talent is all in the family. We did this in celebration of her growth and for social media content. We wanted to do it in the heart of the City as well. We found a pretty amazing space using Peerspace.com. With her business aesthetic, we needed to find some place with lots of natural light and very soft color palette, with little specs of the most amazing city (if I do say so myself). Check out her city shots!!
Her aesthetic is dope.
All sorts of stop and stare.

Always Working
The best part of our job as creative (art-centered entrepreneur) is spent writing and desk work. Alisha is super organized and it was just very necessary to get these shots for her. It truly speaks volume to the amount of work that goes into being a Day-Of-Coordinator, your point of contact for the upcoming weeks leading to your event. Alisha is constantly trying to go above and beyond for her clients and we wanted that portrayed in her portraits.
Personality Peaking
Though this is my sister, and we are comfortable with each other, people tend to tense up when a camera comes out. As aforementioned, Alisha is a huge perfectionist where she wanted every frame to be perfect. My job was to bring her true authenticity out. She is extremely funny and a joy to be around. There is much personality wrapped up in this gorgeous package. I wanted her clients to be able to see her in that true light. Of course out front we try to be these polished specimens, but deep down we want our clients to relate to us on a personal level.
I hope you enjoyed learning about Alisha Freeman, the Productionista. Enjoy the rest of her branding/headshot session. Of course, if you are in the market for a Day-Of-Coordinator check her out. You won't be disappointed. Tell her Theresa sent you!!
